The Poor Knights of St Dysmas

Medieval Re-enactment Society, portraying Brothers, Sergeants and Lay Brethren of a minor Military Order, during the period 1346 AD to 1485 AD.  Notorious for fielding one of the best trained Bill Blocks in the country.

   

The Order of Fighting Knights

This group from Sheffield has some of the very finest swordsmen among its membership, including Lord Hugh Despenser, Grand Champion 2007 Full Contact Tourneys.  And many very good looking ladies, as you’d expect in such exalted and noble company!!

    

Knights of Honour

Sir John of Lancaster, Lady Eleanor de Mytton, Sir Edmond De Lupine, and  Sir Alexander de Gordon are amongst the nobility in this growing re-enactment group, which now features a forge, fight displays and tournaments, weapons displays and talks, fashion and costume of the period, and a cooks tent.

   

Team Falchion

represents the immediate retinue of Sir Nicholas de Cantilupe, the real-life Baron of Greasley and Ilkeston, who lived during the reigns of Edward II and Edward III. Sir Nicholas was an accomplished soldier, statesman, judge and member of parliament, as well as being a confidante of King Edward III.

    

The Marcher Freemen

Welsh Medieval Group with emphasis on accurate living History, complete with Bodger, Fletcher, Weaver, and Surgeon as well as

Archers and Men at Arms.

    

The Free Men of Gwent

Small but perfectly formed! And armed with a working Ballista, and a “have a go miniature trebuchet firing range!”

Sir Geoffrey of Woodstock and Matilda de Monfichet, veterans of many Tournaments and worthy Champions at several.

Horses Through History

The fair Demelza and some four legged representatives from Horses Through History will be gracing the Bodelwyddan Medieval Festival. I have been sent photographs of the Gold Knight and the Black Knight!
