The site for the Annual Bodelwyddan Medieval Festival is the very lovely and convenient Bodelwyddan Castle Park, which is adjacent to the A55 Express Way in Denbighshire, North Wales.

The Medieval Festivals will be specifically sign-posted by Denbighshire County Council. There is ample free supervised all-weather parking. From the car parks you walk up and through the Castle to gain access to the Medieval Festival. Disabled parking is available adjacent to the Castle.

More detailed maps can be found by using the Castle’s  LL18 5YA  postcode at sites such as

The Fair is open

Saturday   10am to 6pm*

Sunday   10am to 4pm

(Gates open at 9am each day to help avoid over-long queues!)

*last admission 4pm

There will be a very full programme of entertaining, educational, and astounding events on both days

Daily Admission is:

£10 per adult, £5 children ( between 5 and 16 ),

under 5 free of charge, no unaccompanied

children.

We do not think the event is suitable for nervous dogs or for small babies due to the sudden very loud noises such as cannon fire.

It is intended that this event be staged twice Annually, in April and in August and that as we become more familiar with the setting and the site we will be able to expand the cast and add some additional interesting things. The Medieval Period is quite broad, often being defined as 1066 to 1485, from the Norman Invasion through to the start of the Tudor Period after the death of the notorious (perhaps unfairly) Richard III at the Battle of Bosworth, generally acknowledged as the end of the dynastic struggle now called The Wars of the Roses.
